Real Momma, Real Style

Out of the blue it hit me the other day….my baby isn’t really a baby anymore.

How did I come to this not-so-shocking conclusion? My white pants stayed white all day.

A minor victory in mom land, but exciting none the less. No sticky handprints, to wiped on mystery goo, no shoe scuffs from dangling feet. They started white, they ended white. In my world, that means LJ is getting old.

I know white pants seem like a strange thing to measure my kid’s “bigness” off of, but for me it’s a major milestone. One that I’m not so sure I’m excited about.

One thing I am super excited about….Novae Clothing is now carrying plus sizes!!! XL and up, Novae Clothing has new options coming this week! My killer floral shirt will be released this week. Check out Novae Clothing and follow them on Facebook to stay up to date with all the latest styles.

For more great fashion, I’m linking up to What I Wore Wednesday on The Pleated Poppy. You should too!

  4. Isn’t it just so bittersweet when you notice how they are growing up? My son told me the other day that he thinks he is getting too be too old for me to tuck him in at bedtime. What? You mean I won’t be doing that until he leaves the house? :) Great outfit, by the way! I’m glad it stayed white.

So, I’m sitting here holding my 9 day old son in my lap thinking about what I want to say…

Lest I forget to mention, he is my sixth child, born naturally at home…. my oldest is almost 16!

I guess what I have to say is that after 6 children, my size isn’t what it used to be. I’m a size 16. I was a size 2 a few years ago. I am coming to the conclusion that my size doesn’t matter but its a struggle for me. I love my children and I am happy to be a size 16 if that is what I gave to have children. But I can say that its a struggle not to feel like a frumpy mom. Sometimes I forget that I can still look pretty… despite being a larger size. I don’t always want to “try” because I will feel like I failed since I am not a particularly small size. Basically, I happened upon your blog here tonight and wanted to tell you how cute you look and how you made me feel like I still can look good, and should “try” because you look so pretty and come up with such cute outfits. I was visiting with friends today that I haven’t seen in ages but came for a visit to see the new baby…. They look so cute, and haven’t really changed much since we were young… I guess despite really enjoying my time with them, it was kindof making me feel less thrilled with myself, since I have changed alot since I was younger…. can’t say its all bad, because most of the changes are for the good… they are great changes, but left me feeling less than stellar about my size. Your blog here gave me the boost I needed to realize that my size isn’t what makes “me” and that I can look nice, good, and even pretty. Thank You.
