Real Momma, Real Style #44

Yesterday our church moved times from 12:30pm to 9 am, on New Year’s Day. While we did a whopping nothing NYE, we’ve always had a hard time making it on time for 9 am church, let alone when we are up late the night before.

Somehow even with my alarm set for 7:15, I still wound up running late. Then my closet decided to go to war with me and produce no fabulous looking or fitting outfit. I finally had to cave cause going to church naked is not an option.

Shirt: Gap, Skirt: Old Navy (old), Shoes: Seychelles, Lipstick: Sephora

I love each piece of this outfit individually, but altogether I look like the 70s barfed all over me. My avaitor sunglasses on the way to church didn’t help the cause.

Am I being to critical, or does this outfit really suck as much as I think it does?

For more great fashion, I’m linking up to What I Wore Wednesday on The Pleated Poppy. You should too!

I love the outfit. I don’t think it sucks at all.And I agree about 9 AM church! There’s no way I could make it to church that early with a toddler in tow!

I like the outfit! I think it is missing something….maybe a big chunky belt or some chunky bangle bracelets.

I love the skirt! I wish ON had it now!

  4. Amy says:

I really, really love it. For being rushed (and even if you hadn’t been rushed!), I think you picked an awesome outfit.

  5. Sara says:

Love the outfit…and the shoes for sure, they add a fun color element. And I’m jealous you get to go at 9am to church, we only have 2 wards that meet in our building and now we go at 11:30, which isn’t terrible, but I still prefer to go earlier. Happy New Year!!

  6. I think you look adorable, as always!! I usually match my shoes to either my bottom or top, but I am a generation older, so no need to follow what I do. And good for you for making it to church (we slept in at our house)! Glad to see the return of Real Momma, Real Style. I missed it.

Nina, my first thought when I saw these pictures? “Wow, Nina knocked it out of the park on this one.” You look amazing. I didn’t get 70′s at all. I thought fabulously vintage 1935 and I think the aviators would have been amazing too. You look lovely.

  8. Heather says:

I think the outfit is great! It has this awesome vintage vibe going. I never would have thought of shoes like that with the outfit, but I LOVE it!

  9. Aubree says:

I think you look fantastic as always!

  10. Elisabeth says:

Definitely NOT 70s barf material. :) More like modern, vintage 2012 material. :)

Sorry, it’s not your best outfit. It might be the colors. The skirt is really pretty!

  15. Barb says:

The pieces look great, but I think that they do need some fabulous accessory to tie them together more.

  16. Meggan says:

I normally LOVE your style, but I have to agree with you onthis one – individually the pieces are great, together i think it looks like an outfir from the movie 9-5 :)
