I saw it from across the store.
We locked eyes, and I was hooked.
Quickly, I steered the stroller over, dropped my purse right there, and tried it on.
The tiny in-store mirror rarely does something justice, but I could already tell this baby had to be mine.
Then I saw the price tag…$19.95.
Remember, I’m cheap. And $20 on a a fur vest was not exactly in the budget.
Like a first date that ended without a kiss, I put the vest back and went on my way.

A week later, I still couldn’t shake the vest. It was calling for me, slipping into my dreams, producing horrid copies at Costco.
It needed me.
Apparently I needed it to.
And a week worth of PB&J to make up for it
