I’m so excited today to introduce a new segment for my blog {One x One}!
One piece. One week.
One big challenge to see how many outfits I can create using just one piece from my closet.
No more lurking in the back. No more hiding at the bottom of the drawer. It’s make it or break it time.
The rules are simple. I’ll find one poor, neglected piece of clothing , and spend one week finding as many ways to wear it as possible. Hopefully, I’ll come up with 7 new outfits. If I run out of ideas, I run out of ideas. That’s the challenge….don’t run out of ideas!
So what’s up first? The vest.
I bought this Gap vest years ago. My dear friend had it on one night and I knew I had to get it. Only problem, it was too big in the shoulders. I’m simply too short for it, so it never fit well. I’ve worn it a few times, but it mostly lived in the back of my closet.
A few weeks ago, I decided I was done banishing it. Off to the tailor it went, and back came a perfectly fitting vest!
Vest: Gap, Dress: Loft, Shirt: Old Navy, Shoes: Soda via Marshalls, Necklace: True Birds, Ring: Downtown
To make up for years of neglect, this vest is getting the first crack at the {One x One} challenge. Figured might as well start big and pair it not only with a dress, but a patterned one at that.
I like this look far more than I thought I would. Definitely better than the last time I tried pattern mixing!

I love this idea! I want to do this but I can’t decide on the piece. Maybe I’ll start small and do a scarf.

What a great idea!! And what a great vest. It goes well with your warm coloring! I have a duster vest (two, actually) that I might consider doing that with but I fear I’d get bored after the second day or so.
