Real Momma, Real Style #36

I’m so excited about this outfit I’m not quite sure what to say or how to accurately describe it. The outfit itself is nothing super amazing, or Earth shattering. It’s what it represents to me.

For years I’ve tried on every boot, in every store, in every style, with absolutely no luck. My calves are simply too big for boots and I’d resigned myself to never being able to rock them. I’d even gotten myself to be ok with skinny jeans just so I could wear them…but no boots could be found.

Effortlessly chic. I think that term is LA’s dress code. I’ve always felt like I could never fall into that effortlessly chic look cause anything “effortless” usually meant shapeless. Shapeless is a curvy girl’s nightmare….how to look fatter in one easy step!

Shirt/Jeans: Old Navy, Boots: Comfortview, Necklace: H&M, Bracelets: Downtown

For the first time, I feel like I got that effortlessly chic look. I finally found boots, got a top that’s flowy while fitted, and I look like all the other girls in LA. I don’t know why nailing this look has always meant so much to me, but I’m really proud of myself that I finally found the pieces that work for me.

You look great!! I’ve always felt the same way about that “effortlessly chic” look. Forget about ANY curves – you have to be a stick to pull it off! Well, you’ve proved that wrong – effortlessly chic and equally fabulous! Inspiring :)

  2. Hey, did you cosmicly know that I am wearing pretty much the exact same outfit today?! What a coinky-dink:)

  3. You look fabulous!! I have a pair of boots but I never wear them. Your post is reminding me to try them again.

I hear you! Those boots are really working for you. I finally found a pair at Avenue, and I’ll be darned if they don’t actually make my calves look leaner. I’m ready to sing the praises of the Enya Cuff Boot. Maybe even enough to depart from the usual fare and share a photo of them on my blog.

You are another prime example of a beautiful, REAL woman wearing skinnies and looking awesome! Although it is frustrating that ALL boots aren’t made in extended calf sizes! Get with the real world designers :/

You look gorgeous and you inspire me so much!! Good for you for seeing your beauty and appreciating it! This is the first year I’ve finally let my hang-ups go and slipped on a pair of “skinny” jeans. SO what if I have full hips and thighs?! I’m plan to work it!

The boots look great on you! That’s the only way I’d wear skinny jeans – with some nice boots but I don’t own any.
