This weekend brought a lot for us to handle. Between the scare of violence in the apartment upstairs, and a beautiful, yet tragic family event, I found myself needing to regroup. Sometimes you just need a moment to process it all, away from everyone and everything.

I needed to slow down, and take in the beauty of this life. Smell the flowers. Enjoy the sunset. Embrace the quiet.

While the few moments away helped me re-center, they also made me want to race home and hold my family tighter.

If you do anything today, please, take a moment to hug your family tight. Tell them you love them. Call those you haven’t spoken to in awhile.
