I needed to escape. Get outta here. Sans toddler. Sans hubby. Just breathe.
It’s a rare moment for me that someone, or something, isn’t requiring my attention. I think we all feel that at some point. The only thing that could fix this feeling was some space.
So where does one go to escape in the suburban jungle I live in? The mall….cause that’s the most spacious place I could think of! (can you smell the sarcasm?)
You know the best place in the mall for space? The clearance rack at Urban Outfitters. HA! Physical space, no. Mental spaceĀ for creativity, yes!
I don’t have a clue the last time I went in that store. Most of their things are either not my taste, or totally my taste but not my wallet’s. But I was kid free, burning time, and figured why not.
That’s when this little black and cream beauty jumped off the clearance rack and into my arms. I swear, I don’t know how it happened, cross my heart
I think we were made for each other. The large fit like a glove (good thing, no xl there), it meets my new “only pattern or visual interest” rule for adding things to my closet, it has sleeves so I don’t have to put anything on over it, and it was marked down to $19.99.

Plus, my newish Target purple flats got to come out and play. Target, Old Navy, and Urban Outfitters all in the same oufit. Yup, I’m totally a (sub)urbanite!
