Knits Are Hard to Sew

I’ve been DYING to make a jersey knit elastic waistband skirt. Ever since I bought my favorite  chevron stripe skirt, I’ve been kinda obsessing. Only prolem is that my JoAnn usually only carries solid colored jersey and it’s rather expensive…boo :(

As you can imagine by this dorktacular picture, I was rather besides myself with excitement when I found this navy and red striped jersey mixed in the bunch. It wasn’t on sale, but I had a 50% off coupon, so this baby was mine!

Shirt: Gap Outlet, Tee: Old Navy, Skirt: Made by ME, Necklace: Made by ME (tutorial here), Sandals: Ann Taylor Outlet

I had heard over and over again that knits, especially jersey, is really tough to sew. I will admit, it was not the easiest thing I’ve ever done, but the stretch of the fabric does help hide beginner errors, like accidentally stitching part of the elastic waistband into the skirt itself. Ooops! Whatever.

Momma Time {bodycology Review & Giveaway} CLOSED

I’ve always been terrible at taking care of myself. For years, Hubs suggested that I find a hobby, go for a pedicure, do something for me for a change. Since becoming a momma, I’ve realized, more than ever, the need to take some time to take care of myself.Since becoming a momma, I’ve realized, more than ever, the need to take some time to take care of myself.

One of my favorite ways to refresh and rejuvenate myself after a long day of food fights, toddler chasing, laundry, momma duties is a nice, long, hot shower. There is nothing quite like washing away the stress {and toddler goo} of the day to leave me feeling like a new momma.

That’s why I was so excited to try the NEW bodycology rich&creamy Body Wash and Body Lotion.  I’m a sucker for rich, hydrating bath products, but usually can’t stomach the price. At under $5.00 each, bodycology had me {and my wallet} from hello.

I was lucky enough to try the new bodycology Skin Softening rich&creamy Body Wash and Body
Lotion
.These were perfect for me since I notoriously have dry skin. Anyone else get those annoying dry skin bumps on their upper arms….no? Cool. Well I do, and I’ve been battling them for years! With 24 hour aquation Hydration Technology I was hoping that bodycology would be the perfect solution.

While I found the rich&creamy Skin Softening Body Wash a little less creamy than I would have expected, I was pleasantly surprised with how clean and refreshed my skin felt after. I’m usually running to the lotion bottle the second I step out of the shower. With bodycology, I could slowly saunter instead of run. A nice change of pace.

Now when it comes to the new bodycology rich&creamy Skin Softening Body Lotion, you might need to pry it from my hands with a crow bar. This stuff is seriously amazing! No joke, 24 hours later my skin felt just as soft and hydrated as it did when I first put it on. Even better, my upper arms were far less bumpy and much smoother. I’ve paid too much good money for dermatologist recommended special lotions for my arms that haven’t done this much for my bumps. Now don’t get me wrong, they are still there, but far less noticeable than they were before! Maybe it’s the silk & avocado oil, or maybe it’s the aquation Hydration Technology including jojoba extract to improve skin’s texture, but bodycology rich&creamy Body Lotion definitely now on my list of must have beauty products.

With 6 fabulous formulas available, I can’t wait to try them all!
