Removing The Blogger Navigation Bar – Beautify Your Blog Part 4

Removing the Blogger Navigation Bar

This might have been the one thing that bugged me the most!

New layout…done
New design…done
New buttons…done
New fonts…done

Nav bar…STILL FREAKIN’ THERE!

If you don’t know what the blogger navigation bar is, take a look at the top of your blog (if you use blogger). You or a blog designer would have had to remove it, so if you haven’t, it’s still there.

The only options Blogger itself gives you is to change the design of it. There’s no widget or setting to actually remove it. To remove the nagivation bar, you need to edit the html.

Go to your dashboard, design, edit html. At or almost at the very top find this code.

Immediately following the code/template style, insert this code.
#navbar-iframe {

display: none !important;
}

Click PREVIEW first to make sure it all looks ok, then save.

That’s it!!! It was that simple to remove something that bugged me for so long.

    It worked but it was scary for a while there. The preview would only let me see my blog for about a 1/2 a second before it went blank. I applied the change and crossed my fingers.

  24. reaganGRACE says:

    I just removed the icky bar! I didn't realize it was making my blog look so generic until it was gone! Thank you so much!

  25. Max Lemieux says:

    Great tip. I've been using this on all my Blogger sites for years.

    To me, the biggest advantage of removing the default Blogger navigation bar is that you eliminate the chance of those "Next" or "Previous" buttons taking your visitors to spam sites.

    Nan: after the navigation bar is removed, you can visit http://blogger.com to log into your dashboard.

  26. TooManyHats says:

    Thank you for this!!!
