Branchin’ Out the Wardrobe Part III

I’ve been afraid to try this look since the second I saw it.

The skinny belt…..DUM DUM DUM!!!

I mean really, I’m no where close to model size. I’m short…there’s nothin’ petite about me. I’m a 5’10″ girl in a 5’2″ body…LAME. So why, oh why, would I add a nice, bold horizontal stripe right around my post LJ tummy?

But in the spirit of “trying harder”, I decided to branch out and actually get a skinny belt. GASP!

I have to admit…it doesn’t look nearly as much like the equator line on a globe as I thought it would. Maybe my awesome new Target sweater is helping, but I think I might possibly like this look.

So dear friends, I have two questions for you. 1) Whattya think overall?  2) Should I get a longer one so I can do the little knot tie thing so the end hangs down?

DON’T FORGET! Part 1 of Beautify Your Blog is coming tomorrow!

How to Beautify Your Blog Series!

Many moons ago (or last March) when my blog was in it’s infancy, I started a Beautify Your Blog series.

I was super new to blogging and was dying to know how to make my blog look awesome like all the other amazing momma/crafters out there.

One problem….I didn’t have a frickin clue what I was doing!

I figured I would post all the tips and tricks that I learned as I went…..yeah, right!
Come to find out there was way more to it all than I expected. I didn’t feel confident in sharing what I had learned cause, well, I wasn’t sure what the heck I knew!
4 blog designs later, I think I finally have some of this down! So to save you all from the growing pains I went through, I thought I would share what I have learned.
Introducing the Beautify Your Blog Series!
Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting things that I’ve learned about changing the look, layout, and feel of your blog.
***Disclaimer*** I’m no blogging/html/css expert. I’m simply sharing what I’ve learned and what has worked for me. I will try my best to answer your questions, but can’t guarantee I’ll have a clue! Also, all my work is based off the old Blogger template Minima. I find it still to be the best/easiest to work with! You can find it by going to design, edit html, and all the way at the bottom it says “Layout Templates (Launched 2006)”. Click there and Minima is the first template listed.

So take a look around. See if there are things that I’ve done that you would like to know how to do. Let me know and I’ll do my best to teach you!

Super Fun Digital Polariod Program

There’s something to be said for the fun of a Polariod. The silly shape, waiting for it to develop, the funky coloring. It’s just classic.

Well, now that real Polariods have gone the way of the Zack Morris phone…

it was only natural that someone would come up with an awesome program to turn your digital photos into “real” Polariods!

Enter the Poladroid program! A super easy, super fun way to make your own “Polariods”. It even has the “wait or shake” time period while your picture is “developing”. Makes it more authentic ;)

It was so easy to “roid” out my favorite picture of LJ and I!

Just crop your picture into a square.

Then drag and drop into the Poladriod program.

That’s it! It’s so easy, and it even let’s you save your picture or upload it to Flickr. Love it!

But the best part….the program is FREE!!! Just head over to the Poladriod site and download your copy. I’d LOVE to see your “roided” pictures!
