I am slowly, but surely, diving into the world of sewing.
My machine is out of the box.
I’ve accomplished my first project.
But there is nothing that will motivate me to get sewing more than this!
Yes my fellow crafters, I’m in love with a fabric store.
I’ve been going into downtown LA for years. My mom and I bought all of my dance team’s costumes from the fashion district. We got all the fabric for my bridesmaids and flower girls’ dresses in the fabric district. We rented all the centerpieces for my wedding at the flower mart.
But now that I am sewing mysef, I have a new appreciation for the fabulousness that is the fabric district (and Michael Levine in particular).
I have a new love affair with toile thanks to my sisters-in-law.
And check out this trim selection….and this is only one little part of the wall!
If you ever get the opportunity to visit this magical mecca of all things crafty, you MUST go! I totally take for granted that I can zip down there (ok, zip is relative in LA) anytime I want. So seriously, don’t miss out, cause it’s amazing.
I have already started on one project with fabric from downtown……so stay tuned!
